  • F60LH identification

    Hello,
I just got a F60LH and the ID tag says it is a 6C5 L 1046988. I can not see a date of manufacture tag on it. Is there anyway to tell the manufacturer date from the information I supplied above? The previous owner says it was a 2011 model.

I would like to order a service manual for it and maybe some parts in the near future and would like to have a positive ID on the model year.

    Any help is appreciated.

since the 05 production run Yamaha no longer used a manufacture date.

they did , for the US market, use a tag on the stbd bracket and a EPA sticker.
both have a year of production.
to order the correct SM for US market motors since 06 you use the seriel number.

Your motor, by serial number, is a 2011 production year motor. The F60LH, however, was not offered in the USA.

I suspect that you are in Canada eh?

If so, and if you call Yamaha Canada, they should be able to tell you the precise month and year of manufacture. Also the identity of the service manual, which you can purchase from your local Yamaha dealer.

Did you look on the other side of the motor for the sticker that indicates the month and year of manufacture? No good reason that I can think of for it to be missing. It should look like the one seen in the link below:

Dealers are brutal up here in Canada. I had to call three before I could get one to help me. The first one asked why I wanted the service manual for?
I ended up getting two part numbers: LIT-18616-F5-60 and 6C1-28197-2G-11. I ordered the second one, they assured me it was the correct manual. Anyway you can confirm that?

Is is indeed a 2011 model, as I don't have the engine in my hands I was relying on someone else to find the ID tags.

Thanks for the help, great forum.

Here in the USA I see two SM's being applicable to the US equivalent of your model motor.

LIT-18616-02-85 (6C1-28197-1G-11) is the basic manual.

Service manual LIT-18616-F5-60 is a supplement to the basic manual.

Both documents are available from any USA Yamaha marine dealer. One close to Canada is Andy at www.simyamaha.com

Hello again. I received my manual today P/N 6C1-28197-2G-11 and you are absolutely correct it is the basic manual. There are things in there that don't match up exactly to my engine.

My question is: Does the supplement, p/n LIT-18616-F5-60, include the basic manual information and the supplement information?

Or: Do I have to buy separate manuals?
