704 control for 1990 70hp

I just picked up a 70hp with 703 controls and
Would like to install on my center console with a
Top mount 704 is there any issue using one I have
Looked around but no info or parts number for this
Year? Thank you for any info.

Control boxes don't go by years. Any 704 control box will control almost any Yamaha.

There is no issue whatsoever with using a 704 control box with a 70 HP two stroke Yamaha. You will also need a key switch/kills switch panel and the ten pin electrical harness that connects the control box to the motor.
