The holes bosco is talking about are not in the nozzel.
they are the ones right behind the throttle plates in the bore that get uncovered as you move the plates, they add fuel in that transition zone.
usually have a plug covering the opening where they drilled passages that are a pain to clean if they are gummed up

It is relatively easy to jam a rubber stopper through the mouth of a bottle, even though the cork may have a larger diameter than the mouth of the bottle. It is a bitch to get back out.

So too it is with debris that gets into carburetor hidey holes. Some times you can get it out. Some times you can't. Some times the carburetor has to be scrapped.

I am still amazed how they can insert a stent into a vein on a leg and run it up to the heart to clear out debris. Something similar is needed for some carburetors.

But I do not want to have to pay the high cost of a tool like that.
I would not need them often enough to pay off the tool

Just had that today with a weed eater I'm selling..

Wouldn't start, fuel running out (diaphragm with needle and seat). It dumped probably 1/3 cup of fuel into the bot tum end. Flipped it over and got that dry. Talk about TINY holes.....

Disassembled (nothing unusual seen) the carb and dropped it in the sonic cleaner for 40 minutes, heated. (That particular carb had NEVER been cleaned in that machine).

The cleaning solution was pretty nasty and the machine now runs again, idles, no excess fuel, fine tuned with a tach, 6,800 RPM WOT, with a blower attachment for load (MUCH more drag than just the string trimmer).

That's when a sonic cleaner comes in handy. The guys picking it up tomorrow..

Sure, tear em down to the carb body, etc(what you want dunked), PM me for an address and I'll cook up a "echo" soup! Throttle plate, etc can stay, just everything with an orifice that could be an issue. (remove the heavy crap from the outside please)

"Off of" as in their already off..

He stated he had two carbs, not machines that needed them removed..

Exactly... If its a quadrajet, it probably wouldn't fit...

more like if it came off of a chevy V8 or an automotive motor, it will not fit

The two tiny little carbs would almost fit inside a quadrajet....
