Older 4 wire trim sender question

I have an older 4 wire trim sender plug ( grey, pink, orange, black ) Is there an ohm test for the sending unit ? I have the service manual and cannot locate it. Also coming off the trim gauge there is a blue and black wire for the gauge light but also a yellow male bullet connector which I can't determine if it goes into the remote box or somewhere else. Any help would be appreciated. Motor is a 1986 200 H.P. ETXJ . Trim gauge 6Y5-83670-01-00 thanks, Bruce

The yellow wire conveys key on power from the key switch to the trim meter.

I checked the SM and cannot find a specification for the sender either.

it is a pick off potentiometer.
use common sense in place of published data.
why do you wish to test it ????
