convert 703 to 704 con*****er

Hi! New guy here.
At age 56 I've got my first outboard after 30+ years of inboards.
I've got an older 85hp 3 cyl that came with a 703 con*****er.
I'm switching to a 704.
I've got the 704 & 10 pin cable.
Questions...
1. What ignition switch should I use?
2. How does the choke work with the 704? The 703 has a"fast idle" lever
I've seen a "push to choke" & an ignition with a choke switch in the middle

2. How does the choke work with the 704? Same as a 703. Push the key in to activate the choke.

The 703 has a"fast idle" lever The 704 box has a buttom that can be pressed so that the throttle can be moved to a fast idle position without the shift mechanism being engaged.
I've seen a "push to choke" & an ignition with a choke switch in the middle In the olden days Yamaha offered a switch panel with a separate press-to-choke function. Now the key is pressed.

I am also converting from a 703 to a 704 remote control/switch.

I have a 1988 Yamaha 30 HP outboard. The 703 has a 7-pin connector at the engine, but the 704 uses a 10-pin connector. I'm trying to determine what wires need to go where in order to match my 7-pins to what is needed by the 704 remote/switch.

According to the 704 schematic I have, two of the pins on the 704 that are missing on the 703 (Lg- & Sb-colored wires) are for trim control which I don't need. The remaining missing pin is identified as a yellow wire which goes to the switch. The 703 has a yellow wire *inside* the control which is branched from the red wire and eventually goes on to the low-oil buzzer.

My question is: can I supply the yellow wire needed by the 704 remote with a branch from the red wire from my 7-pin cable?

Why not use the Yamaha adapter that is designed such that the seven pin connector in the engine can mate with the 704 ten pin cable?

The red wire in the 704 cable is designed to power the yellow wire in the 704 cable when the key switch is turned on.

I am thinking red is hot all of the time
yellow is hot with the key in the on position

7-to-10 pin connector: I didn't know it existed. None of the research I've done on converting from a 703 to 704 mentioned it. Thanks!
Just ordered the connector and a 10-pin cable. I hope the 704 lasts as long as the 703 did (30 years).
