    What about drilling and tapping the 14 mm plug in the thermostat housing so that the sender linked below could be bolted to the 14 mm plug? With the bolt that attaches the sender going completely through the 14 mm plug so that the end of the bolt is surrounded by water on its way out of the motor?

    What is that darn plug there for anyway?

    I once did something similar using a F150 oil pan drain plug. Drilled and tapped the plug for a 1/8th NPT fitting that was connected to an analog gauge.

      Interesting Lowrance part! nice "standalone" sensor /N2K "sender" -

      although the specs say it has an upper limit of 176 F



      I've had my eye on that "blind plug" in the thermostat housing...
