Hey guys. I was over my friends house last weekend and he was showing me his new 2017 F300 installed on his new pathfinder boat. I'm unsure what specific model of the F300 class. He pointed out that the engine does not require flushing via lower unit intake (muffs), instead having to only use the power head hose attachment.
The boat was over water on his lift, so from the seawall we were standing on he pointed towards the lower cowling. He says he pushes a button that turns on the fresh water circulator, which powers water through all cooling passages.
I was blown away to learn this, especially having participated in so many discussions on this forum regarding muff flush vs. power head hose vs. both.
Is this a new feature for ALL '17 models? What kind of pump propels the water? I'm interested in learning more about this nifty feature.
