let a shop do it.
it requires removing the intake manifold and carbs as an assy.
if you do it do not mess with any choke linkages.
that rube ****berg design is bad enough without having to work behind a novice.
it is an easy job just don't mess with anything other than fuel lines.

four carburetors
accelerator pump diaphragm
one prime start assembly
one choke solenoid
one thermoswitch
God only knows how many linkages, tubes, etc.
A caution note in the SM not to make any adjustments if the motor operates properly.
Old Rube would have been very proud of Yamaha. If it takes 5 parts to do the job, let's use 10. Or more.

If you wanted to "spritz" a little bit of baby powder in the area, it'll stick to where the leak is.
It'll give you a good idea if it's a simple fitting, etc so the shop doesn't sell you a complete carb / fuel pump, etc job if it isn't needed...Scott

it is a rudimentary very rube setup.
based on engine temp one enrichment device moves. the other is con*****ed by the choke switch.
the engine temp based one also controls cold idle speed.
you simply cannot see any fuel lines until the intake manifold assy is removed.

Now keep in mind that Primestart is Yamaha's term for almost any automatic fuel enrichment system. i.e. almost anything but a choke. All Primestarts are not the same. Yamaha refers to the all EFI and HPDI models as having Primestart. However, in the case of these models it is within the ECU.

I doubt the procedure is in the manual.
it is very simple.
unplug the various electrical connections.
remove the two fwd air box to crankcase cover bolts.
drop the accelerator linkage from the bottom carb.
pull the dipstick.
unplug the fuel pump to carb hoses.
undo the 10 or so fasteners holding the carb assy to the intake.
remove the assy for fuel line inspection.
installation is about the reverse.

the only linkage you have to remove to remove the carbs ASSY has no real requiremnts for any resync.
as long as you DO NOT remove the bolts holding the airbox to carb mounting base.
to access the carbs requires first removing all 4 as an assy.
then you lay the airbox, carbs and mounting plate on the bench and give it ell.
not recommended for the novice with no tools or training.
if the carbs need access take it to a shop.
preferably not ours .
