    nothing like getting older and forgetting things.

    I have a friend that forgot to fill his lower units back up on twin DT150s.
    Drained both and was going to buy some lube next time in town and forgot.
    took for a test drive and found water dripping out and drain plug missing on one of the when back in the drive way.
    Bad part was he did not even remember to check/fill the other one up too and froze it up offshore a week or so right after that

        Not exactly, here's an excerpt with text highlighted in red that I'm most interested in following instructions if my new bushing is "loose" in the bore.

        rodbolt, how can i be sure the bushing will be aligned with the shaft if i use jb weld? i would assume if it were crooked it could wear on the shaft? perhaps shove the shaft thru before jb weld cures completly?

        yepo.
        JB weld it.
        install the lower with two bolts.
        let it sit 12-24 hrs.
        drop the lower ,grease it and reinstall.

          Update (sort of):

          Tried again recently with no luck. I was out of time at the cabin so I dropped it off at a local Yamaha dealer. They called me yesterday and said they're having problems, too. So far they've been using wedges and trying their best to get penetrating fluid into the driveshaft/powerhead junction, but obviously that's hard due to that gravity thing. They've got barely an 1/8" gap between lower and mid section. They're going to keep trying and also try running the engine at the same time.
