  • F150 Tach Trim Indicator

I finally got the 2016 F150 Model: F150XB out for its 1st hr break-in at the local Lake.
Painfully slow at a max of 2K rpm but it was a nice warm day with just the wife and I.

I did notice that the command link round tach 6Y8-8350T-20-00 "trim" indicator wasn't registering the correct position. It displayed a full bar and the top digit was flashing. I checked the trim bracket on the motor and it was in the right position and when I lifted the black tab, the trim indicator on the tach didn't change.

How do I fix it to work?

Sounds like "the Pink wires with yellow tape" need to be connected.

should be near the main harness at the front to the engine

    one male, one female -

yours will look nicer than these >10 year olds

With the pics added, Stevie Wonder would say, " I can see clearly now" .

I'll connect those wires at daylight. Thx

perhaps I should have been more explicit -
hopefully Reel Kahuna will understand when he examines it -

as it comes from the factory, its not a connection -

just two un-connected leads sharing a hermaphrodite insulator

Found the yellow tape right away.

Unwrapped it then connected the two wires per instruction

The Kahuna is now a happy camper .

Thanks fairdeal to you and to all on this site.

Speaking of Kahuna's (Big Kahuna's, Reel Kahuna's,) I was oft referred to lovingly as a Haole. As in, F'ing Haole.

When asked if I wanted a broke ass or what, I suggested that I be given the "or what". It messed with da kine's mind. Could not have been any worse than the broke ass.
