OK, from what I see, just use the correct Yamaha part seal installer.
I did read that thread awhile ago, I forgot about the oil passages.
I gather most engines have them, a simple inspection once the seals are out would tell the tale. Measuring depth BEFORE yanking the old would be a good idea, can't go wrong (if factory installed).
To keep from seating them TOO DEEP and if using PVC, I'd cut a PVC "connector" down. Then glue (it'd look like a ring now) it at the appropriate depth to prevent from installing the seals too deep...Scott

It's your profession and you'l use it all the time doing it correctly, quickly, no guessing and exactly to spec.
For the guy working out of his garage, investing in that tool may not be worth it.Scott
