It's nice to support your local folks too.. And there's no shipping, return
shipping costs, and you can do it all in a day or two... But that's your call.

For the lack of headaches/frustration going locally it'd save you, may be worth it...
I agree 100%. Being the sales guy I am, I'm sure once I bring to their attention the prop is $100 more than their competitors they will reduce the price. I have my ways

That's what I figured. USPS offers 2day priority, like $14 for the sending the box the wheel should fit in. I'd be happy to pay $30 in shipping costs to get a wheel on my motor, kidding me.

See how great this forum is! I learn so much from members that have so much experience . Heck, I'd drive to KDH just to buy Rodbolt a beer or two and see his armory!

Just to let you all know if you do not already know this , but Rod does not do PMs normally.
So his box gets filled and he does not empty it.
call Joes during work hours maybe, or wait for Rod to tell you how he wants you to make contact.

If it was my test prop I would be asking for a deposit just in case it disappeared or got damaged some how

Per US Coast Guard requirements "Boatbuilder's Handbook".

              See Subpart F, Subpart G & Subpart H - Flotation Requirements

Does not have to be "sprayed foam", but must meet the requirements. You can read through this 72 page document if you want to really get into it.

That's only for the original manufacture of the boat.

Yes, and "requirement" is for boats less than 20' length, however some manufacturers have opted to install floatation in boats exceeding the length requirement. My 1971 Mako 19 had foam fall apart and had had chunks all over the bilge. My 1991 191 Mako has foam intact. I even pulled the center console and deck cover off from over the gas tank, checked the foam around the tank, and condition of the tank itself. It was like brand new. My deck and seams are tight as a drum and rarely do I ever get significant amount of water in it. Most of my foam is in the gunwales. I am sure manufacturers have improved on the materials and installation thereof over the years.

By they way, does anyone know why the gunwales are called that?

Originally the gunwale was the "gun ridge" on a sailing warship. This represented the strengthening wale or structural band added to the design of the ship, at and above the level of a gun deck. It was designed to accommodate the stresses imposed by the use of artillery.

Yup, I looked it up before I posted it. I bet Rodbolt has true gunwales and the artillery forces to put them to use!!!

Anyway, I'm going to Marine Connection Liquidators (thousands of props) now to see what props, prices are available , and find out if they exchange or not.

                            I'll look for SS 3 blade, 12.75-13.75 diameter, x 17–19” pitch for Jason's S115.

Very little choice from them with the specs you require. The only props they had were either one used or two no brand. Larger diameter and pitch props they did have thousands new and used. New is $300, used $250.

Here are some pics, the bottom is used, top two are new.:

They would allow with purchase a one time either an exchange or full refund.

Here's 1/4 of their prop aisle (most other diameter/pitch props are brand names):

I did stop by a Yamaha dealer on the way back. They agreed that 17 - 19" pitch was probably what you needed. They also stated although two props with the same pitch/diameter may have the same specs, different manufacturers could give different results.

Back to Admiral? Hope you can take advantage of Rodbolt's offer of borrowing the test wheel, if Joe agrees!

                                Those black ones SS?

That test wheel would be nice but if different manufacturers with the SAME #'s will yield different RPM's, kinda pissing in the wind me tinks..

BTW, you get an "atta boy" for your diligence today Chuck!!
