  • Royal Purple Marine Gear Lube

I've always used Yamalube but I was just reading some hype on this Royal Purple gear lube and thought I'd ask here if anyone uses gear or engine oil other than Yamalube.. I read yrs ago that the motor oil you buy in Harley shops is repackaged diesel oil that is designed for high heat and pressure and they get it from the lowest bidder so yea! I wonder about gear oil .. I've been running Rotella in my Harley for years.
    Thanks

I change mine twice a year. Why? It's cheap insurance. I have used five different brands. Couldn't tell you which one was the last.....

In the ~900 hours I've put on my F225, I've never used a drop of "Yamalube"

I just follow what my owner's manual says, which is:

And I buy what I like that meets those specs.

Now, with the gear oil, for some specific motors (lower units)

there can be some complications re GL-5 lube....
