    what is testing procedure for testing a yam. engine temperature gauge and senor on the motor??

    what about wiring in amp. meter for 9.9 four stroke kicker, i cannot find color codes etc. in yam. shop manual?

    John,
    If you are talking about calibrating the temp gauge and sensor, then just remove the sensor and place in a pan of heated water with thermometer.
    You will need to provide a ground path for the sensor - I just use a jumper wire with alligator clips on both ends. Clip one end to the sensor housing and the other end to engine block.
    Get the water temp up to about 130 degrees f. and immerse the sensor - this should give you about mid-range on the gauge. Need to have ignition to "on" position.

    You want to add an ammeter or voltmeter to the little kicker?
