How do you test the Alarm

I have a 94 200 prov on a skeeter .
just rebuilt the powerhead.
The alarm was working.
Now since I started it it has stopped again.
I believe it should work when the key is in the on position before you start it.
How do I test to varify it works.

On my 91' c115 I pull the lanyard off and try and start the motor. If the buzzer is working it should go off.

I believe on most Yamaha single binnacle controls,
the alarm does not sound when the ignition is turned on. On dual controls for two motor setup, the alarm sounds.
You can test the alarm by shorting out together the two wires that go to either thermo switch that are mounted in the heads (ignition switch on).
