maybe that is one of the reasons they come apart from time to time.
they do run 2 separate ignition systems to try to keep it all lit up
That must be one hellava E-ticket ride. Ever listen to the drivers when they interview them after a 4 second run down the track? They are huffing and puffing like they just ran a three minute mile. Must be all of the adrenaline flowing.
I am waiting for someone to come up with a hidden computerized throttle. It will sense when the last yellow light illuminates and automatically apply the throttle. For consistent reaction times. Say .002 each and every time. Then NHRA will get suspicious and investigate why one driver can leave so fast and so consistently every time.
From what I've read Diesel oil is good for boat engines for the reason you state, constant RPM which can cause sheer. Diesel has stuff that prevents this since many run at constant speed like boats. Since these are 2003 motors FCW spec wasn't out yet. I would have felt better with 15w40 but can't find the full synth with it. Again from what I've read the 5w should be fine. Bit more viscosity enhancers..
