  • Remote control 6x0, neutral gear problem

Hi have a problem during cold starts.
The starter wount crank, but if I try to manipulate the gear in/out it will finally start.
I think maybe the neutral switch (inside the remote control) is faulting or the neutral position must be trimmed. Could there be any other possible cause?

    regards Peter

    depends.
some motors also have a netrual start switch on the engine as well as the one in the remote control.

Remove your engine cowl and look at where the shifter cable connects.

The "slide" the cable attaches to should have some marks that HAVE TO LINE UP.

If they don't, put remote is in neutral. Remove the end of the cable (at the engine) and move the slide till the marks line up.

Now adjust your cable end so it slides on easily and is NOW properly adjusted.

          Hi Thanks!
I found the switch on the motor side, I will check this next time I have the problem.

          Maybe you know this too?
The other side of the control, where you operate it.
If you look at the attached file.
How do you apart 65 from 66 (in red), in order to detach it from the wall where its mounted? I need to remove the black plastic cover in order to reach the screws...

          Kind regards Peter

not ALL Yamaha motors use a neutral start interrupt switch ON the motor.

some have various shift cut and shift position switch's which DO NOT interrupt an ingear start attempt.

if you can post thumbnails why can you NOT post a MODEL number ?

Yes the Whole model # is F150A, (Sweden)
Yes the remote has # 6x0-28199-W0 and it has an internal neutral switch as well as the motor has its own neutral switch.

The problem happens after motor has been lifted...
So probably the motorside is faulting.

Did you check the "slide marks" under the cowl, does everything line up?

Hi regarding "does everything line up?"
I found another switch close to the shifter Cable (se number 1 , 2)
Number 2 is the additional switch, what is the purpose of this?
Number 1 would be the ordinary neutral switch on the motor side, right?

What do you mean with line up? (Gear in neutral = switch signal on, right?)

                        regards Peter

                          NO
the F150 has NO Nuetral start switch on the motor.
                          let me preach on it.
the F150 HAS NO interrupt on the MOTOR.

                          just in case.

NO start interrupt on the F150 engine side.

if by wriggling the shift handle makes it start you most likely have a defective switch in the control box.

redoing the pics for Rodbolt to see.
Rodbolt the OP asked what the switches are for on his motor,
I do not know myself, but someone on here should know

Guessing this is just a pic farther away
