Hi All,
I'm hoping that someone out there can help me with a problem I've got. I've recently changed the tach on my Yamaha 60FETOL. The old tach was a 6Y5-2818R -30 and the new one is a 6Y5-8350T-83-00. I have changed the tilt/trim wiring to the 2 wire set up and have installed the adapter cable.
My problems are:
1. The tach indicates only half the RPM that the engine is running at.
2. With everything connected and the oil tank full I have a flashing oil light and a permanent alarm.
However, when the oil tank is only a third full I get no flashing indicator and no alarm. I have purchased a new oil level indicator and it has made no difference.
I have tried the DIP switches in every combination and nothing changes regarding the alarms
