my lift cylinder is leaking. can it be re sealed or do you just replace .

Mine is leaking from back of unit. Different issue. Make sure you know where the leak is coming from.

it appears to be coming from where the cap screws into the housing.the large lift cylinder not the two smaller trim cylinders

I believe the hardest part of job is to remove the cap. You could order the tool from the same website. Or the Yamaha tool. Will need some sort of extension to get enough torque. Seals are available above link to right. Or have a mechanic do the work....

Maybe too much info? Short answer-yes the unit can be repaired.
