am lost

hi my name is Enrique am new and like to ask the xperts what to do I have a 2003 25 horse 4 stroke Yamaha 2cyl that wont spark,i put the plug agains the steel and no color it does rotate battery is good brand new can you tell me all the things that I need to do to make it work again its been with out for about 9 years please I also have a voltimeter that don't know how to work that please help thank you enrique

Do you have a tiller steering motor or remote?
A couple of quick things, make sure your motor is in neutral.
If you have a safety lanyard, make sure it is in place.
