flow meter leads

The flow meter has 3 leads Black, Orange and Purple I'm guessing the Black is ground. Which out of the Purple and Orange are power and pickup? I have the wiring diagram but it doesn't tell me which one does what.

Orange is the colour used by Yamaha for the five volt reference.
