2002 yamaha 150 2 stroke loss of power?fuel issue

Evenrude mechanic hear and need some help was on my freimds boat today and engine suddenly turned off. Started up.again for a few secounds and engine died again. Checked the fuel lines and no leaks checked the fuel filter and no contaminant and fuel was making its way to the filter. Spark plugs were working . Tried to keep preasure in the fuel system and still wouldnt start im thinking its the fuel lift pumps or carburetor any suggestions for further troubleshooting

check the compression.
check the spark.
fix the fuel system.
post a model number as all 150 2 strokes did not use the same fuel and ign parts.
