Boat got struck by lightning while I was on it! Luckily no one was hurt except for the boat. The boat has Twin 06' F250TXR's and both were damaged. One engine was able to limp us back home, while the other refused to start.
Diagnosing the problem with the engines I came to the conclusion that the ECU's were fried. I bought a new one and it managed to get the engine the port engine to run normal. The starboard engine (the one that wouldn't start initially) starts however its not happy. It'll idle smoothly for about 20 seconds then suddenly bog down and die. Advancing the throttle makes the engine unstable and usually stalls it (application of starter fluid while advancing the throttle can get it to rev-up). I swapped the throttle body/TPS and accelerator position sensors with the good engine and the effect is the same. Fuel pressure is the same and steady at about 40psi. I have no idea what else I could be missing. Anyone have additional input?
