  • 1990 115ETLD will not start.

I can crank the thing forever and it will not make an offer. I'm getting lots of spark at the plugs, but it doesn't seem like i'm getting fuel.

I replaced my fuel pump, and then I pump the "fuel ball" until the fuel system was pressurized, and I get the same problem.

I tried pouring a small amount of fuel directly onto the pistons, and my motor would fire up until that bit of small gets burned off.

So now i'm out of ideas, any suggestions?

either the choke is not functioning properly ,
you are not using the choke properly,
    the fuel is bad,
    or the carbs need cleaning

      Fuel is new,
I looked over the choke and everything seems to be functioning,
I am clueless when it comes to carbs, so I would not know how to check if it needs cleaning.

      Also, thanks for the reply

So I finally figured out the issue. The choke is not working on my remote control, I have to use the choke that is on my outboard. Anyone ever have this issue before? If so, how do I fix it, aside from replacing my remote control module.

Figure out where the problem lies before replacing any parts.

Your motor uses a solenoid to activate the choke. The same as you pulling the choke knob.

Could be an electrical issue or a mechanical issue. Remove the to cowling. Turn the key to the on position. Then push the key in or press the choke toggle switch, depending upon how your boat is configured. Do you see or hear the choke solenoid energize? If not, the problem could be the choke switch, the wiring to the motor, or the solenoid itself.

Now if you hear the solenoid is it closing the choke plates? The solenoid is connected to the carburetors via a link rod and the link rod is held in position by an O ring. If and when O rings get old they sometimes break. Perhaps the link rod is no longer connected to the carburetor.
