F300 Speedometer inop

I have twin Yamaha F300 outboards and command link plus. Is there a speedometer pick up (pitot) on the outdrive? I have watched a couple of video showing where the pick ups are but they are 250 hp and cannot find anything on a F300.

I have looked at the outdrives and cannot find any intake holes similar to the ones shown in videos for the 250 hp versions.

Yes, The F225/F250/F300 Offshore models have a pitot tube on the lower unit.

Run your thumbnail along the leading edge of the lower unit above the nose section of the gear case. It should snag on the pitot tube.

the v8 300 did not have the pitot.

The V8 F300 has not been available since 2009. I hope to goodness that we are not discussing a 6/7 year old motor.

And I don't think the V8 F300 ever had CL+.

Which leads me to believe this has gotta be a V6 Offshore motor.

Installed it on the transom of the boat.
