My friend has just bought a Parker with the 250 and Yamaha digital gauges. problem; turn the key on and only show 11.9 volts. I have 12.4 at the plug going into the gauge. Also only reads 12.8 while running. So help on the low voltage reading. I have nothing else powered up when key is on. I have cleaned or replaced all wires and ends that I can find. Just wondering could it be the gauge. All voltages were checked with meter. I have not checked at the batteries with engine running, waiting for water pump. I am new here. Thanks for any help.

Most digital gauges that I am familiar with indicate on the low side.
Measure the voltage directly at the battery posts. A fully charged battery will indicate more or less 12.7 volts. Start the motor and let it run at a fast idle. In about a minutes time the voltage at the battery should be approximately 14.5 volts plus or minus a tenth of a volt or so. This indicates the charging system is working.
Best that can be done is to clean up all of the electrical connections from the motor to the gauge to eliminate as much voltage drop as possible. Then measure the voltage to the gauge at the point where the gauge connects to a mini-harness that runs from the key switch. Let's say it is 14.4 volts. The gauge indicates less than that. The operator will have to remember the difference between the actual voltage and the indicated voltage.
There is no adjustment that can be made to the gauge. You can always install a new gauge but there is no guarantee that it will be any better.

Batteries in back. i have cleaned everything i can find. Like i said 12.4 at the back of the gauge but 11.9 reading on the gauge. So i see they do read a little lower. When I can finish the water pump then I will run it and see what is at the batteries verses gauge. Thanks for all the input. I am very good at DC voltage but not had much on the digital gauges.

And some riggers don't know to not look for an isolator lead connection point on an F200/F225TXRA model cause there won't be one.
Yamaha likes to keep their riggers guessing.
