  • Wax for cowling?

    Bizarre.
    Its automotive-quality paint.
    Just like your car.
Yamaha even sells a Marine Detailing Kit which includes "YamaLube Wash & Wax"

I'm surprised they are not telling you to ONLY use that....

Hummm, messing with me or ???

Anyway, as posted above, its painted fiberglass or plastic (like most cars nowadays). Why you wouldn't polish to protect the paint it is beyond me..

Any good car wax will work fine.

I personally use this product which I also use on the bike. Easy to spray on and wipe off. Works extremely well and seems to hold up good too...

This is the exact same product but half the price and 2 oz smaller:

It must be the way kids write, nowadays, with their new-fangled, text-lingo, and lack of grammar, punctuation and proofreading!

A wax/polish with a sunscreen/uv protectant would be the best....I've always waxed mine to try and preserve the paint and my 1999 motor looks pretty good for all the years of sun and water....folks that tell you not to wax your motor are nuts!!!
