60hp 2005 4 stroke / known faults

Looks to be a 2005 model year motor.

The FT prefix means that it is what we here in the states call a T60. Which is our F60 with a high thrust gear case on the motor.

Were you able to check and see if it has carburetors or a fuel injection system?

Ah that's good! It has carbs. What is the benefit of the high thrust over standard? Thanks for the pointers by the way, most educating! 👍

the high thrust used a different case and different props. it was designed for pontoon/barge and displacement type hulls.

the F was a smaller case designed for planeing type hulls.
