Good morning. I removed my lower unit and replaced the water pump impeller and managed to break the shift rod keeper on the upper shift linkage in the top cowl. I see a rubber plug in the side of the housing which I thought would allow me to slide the square rod out but I cannot. Is there a way without dismantling the upper parts of the motor?
