VZ225 won't run

I have a 2005 Yamaha VZ225 , idles ruff and wants to stall,when I get it running and try to drop it in gear,it dies almost immediately.anyone have any ideas? I have changed the fuel filter,checked for blocked lines,even tried running out of a gas can to make sure I had clean fuel.

check compression, test spark.
then go fix the fuel system.
it is expensive.
