Just to be clear, these are 4 stroke motors.

        No?

I have misidentified these things from the get go then....I thought that if they had oil injectors, they were 4 stroke.

        My bad..

I hope you have not been putting 4 stroke oil in the oil tanks

No, the PO disconnected the oilers and I have been premixing 2 stroke oil in with the gas.

Hey, I guess I did know they were two stroke motors all along.

            Man, Alzheimer's is a bitch!

Is the motor with the data plate the same motor that is shown in your other posts? The photo with the connectors that are shown?

Do both motors have square nylon connectors? Or does one motor have square connectors and the other motor have round connectors?

Yes one motor has round and the other has square connectors.
Can you tell by the pictures which harness I will need?

The motor with the square connectors will use the harness that is depicted in the illustration in my post #11. Unless you string a single wire for the trim.

The motor with the round connectors uses the same trim/oil harness (from the motor to the gauge) but adapter harness are needed. See the following illustration.

Now that I think about it, both of your motors use a three wire trim sender. The sender gets its voltage from the tachometer. Via the orange wire.

Boscoe, thanks for all the information. Can I ask you for one more thing to put this to bed?

Can you tell me what the part numbers are for the wiring harnesses that I will need for each engine? One for the SQUARE connectors and one for the ROUND connectors? That way I can just order the parts and be done with it, hopefully.

                    Thanks, Joe
