  • Alarm buzzer constant

1988 115 hp ,the alarm buzzer comes on immediately after motor starts. Have disconnected each sensor to no avail. Motor runs fine, water is coming out in a good stream. It's driving me nuts. Help!

      Alarm

No, I'm currently checking for a short in the wiring.

Shorts in wiring either blow fuses or burn wires. A short won't cause an alarm buzzer to sound.

Rodbolts question was not related to what you were/are doing but rather about the model of the Yamaha throttle/shift control box that you have connected to the motor. Assuming that the motor is not tiller steered since you did not say.

What specific sensors did you disconnect? A 1998 115 two stroke Yamaha does not use any sensors to sound the alarm. It uses two thermoswitches (one per cylinder head) and a switch in the main engine mounted oil tank to sound the alarm. These switches close to apply a ground that the buzzer needs to make it operate.
