I'm looking in to upgrading to a new 4-stroke F70 from my 2-stroke C60, but I want to keep the rigging costs to a minimum. Which controls/gauges/wiring can I keep with the new engine? I currently have the OEM harness with a Yamaha 704 Binnacle and one of the round digital tachometer gauges (not sure exactly which part number) and new throttle/shift control wires. Would those work with the new motor? What else should I be looking for? If I need a new wiring harness (likely), I would like to find one on eBay or Amazon. What part numbers should I be looking for?
I plan to remove my old C60 and wire up as much as possible prior to having the Yamaha technician do the rigging. I have rigged the C60 last year, so I am familiar with the basics. As I want the warranty upheld, I definitely want a pro to do the main rigging on the new motor.
My boat is a 2000 A/B Inflatable 4.50VST - about 15ft with a small center console and a deep v hull. The transom plate states a max 75HP motor.
Thanks for all the advice in advance...
