Eating Barracuda Doesn’t Always Kill You | The Deep Dish Cayman
I guess we got a bit off the subject. However, here's my kick into it.
You guys don't know what you are missing. The first time I heard of Fried Barracuda chunks, I was 60 miles west of Key West near Rebecca Shoal. After a day of fishing at the drop off we all (4 small boats on the trip) caught quite a few Barracuda less than 24". My good friend suggested we keep and fry them. He had a gas fryer aboard. The best appetizer I ever had. Any time I catch these little sharp toothed killers, you can bet I'll make Fried Barracuda chunks and Fritters.
The link is one of many great ways to prepare them. Believe me, they are not trash fish. when cooked properly, moist and pleasantly tasty.Chuck,
