50 hp 4 stoke

im working on a f50tlrz 4 stoke ,started when sat up and then wouldnt get up to speed so cleaned the carbs (4 times) its now running great but at idle the lower carb is flooding out ,gas running out the throat.im positive its not the needle and seat i can pressure check them and seems good the only other way i see gas coming in is thru these auto primers but i dont know how they work
any helpful hints is appreciated

The lower carburetor does not use an auto enrichment device. Only the number one and number three carburetors do.

Are you saying that when the primer ball is pressed that gasoline comes out of the carburetor? That is a classic indication of the inlet valve not seating.

yes i know it doesnt have one but there is a hose running off the primer to the lower float bowl .
i turn carbs upside down blow little pressure in and no leaks ,then i put a new needle valve in and it is rubber tipped so seat is brass same result gas just runs out lower throat and boggs it down idling, it starts dripping gas.
funny thing is it does it just sqeezing the bulb a little with out power to the primers but i still dont know how they work.
the primers have a brass needle telling me theres rubber in the seat but i could be wrong
does fuel even flow threw them i dont know or is it more of a vacum type of deal

Check the float itself and make sure it's NOT LEAKING. Fuel in the float will of course make it sink, stay open and flood...

Check the float level as well.

Do you have access to a brake bleeder too l(like a Mity vac). You should be able to close the needle to the seat and pull a vacuum (and hold it)...

If not, pull that lower carb, hook up an auxiliary tank to that carb and pull the bowl. In the regular running position (carb), hook up fuel to the intake connection and see if gently holding the float up stops ALL THE FUEL from flowing-which it should.

Letting it drop, of course fuel should run out...

floats are ok i might change it out with another carb see if problem moves ,would'nt turning carb upside down with just the weight of the float and a brand new needle valve, then blow in tube hooked to bowl it seals good you cant force air thru it.i would think if the seat or needle had a spot of dirt or anything holding it that open it would never seal. but i could be wrong it very frustrating its like it dumps gas fast than if you didnt have a needle in it at all.that's why i was thinking that primer valve was dumping fuel thru a overflow or something.but all the lines to auto primers are not clamped which i guess means there either just a vent or overflow hose lower pressure. thks again it good to beat this around with someone else.ive done a lot of carbs but i never seen these primers before
