Yamaha Enduro 40hp questions

Hi guys , im new here , got a 40hp yamaha enduro I prob have to rebuild because it went underwater, what would i need to do, and parts ?.....Its been sitting for about 2 months.....rebuild powerhead? carb rebuild? etc....

Have been submerged 2 months ago and only now you will rebuild it!?!?!?

What have you done after take the motor from the water?

Fresh or salt water?

Motor isnīt seized?

salt water, and i purchased it from someone...

the guy tried to flush it with fresh water but dont think he did a good job.

I would remove the trim unit if it has one, the lower unit and the upper cowling and offer them for sale. Everything else I would scrap.

My guess is that you have a motor for parts...

You're not being very specific but my guess is that motor now must be seized, if not crankshaft bearings must be dead, carb must be junk... so on...

Better take to someone that know what is doing...

have look on youtube for what to do in motors that have been submerged

thanks guys, sorry about the little bit of info,,,,im not an expert on engines,,,Im gusing I will have to rebuild the powerhead , carb , etc... just trying to get the best info i can before i let someone look at it. I am willing to buy whats needed to get it running again.

it does not cost anything but your time to take it apart yourself to see what all is rusted up.
but expect all of the shiny surfaces to possibly be rusted

if you have to pay someone to do all of the work plus the parts, it will probably cheaper to find a running motor.
no one can predict what your motor will need until someone looks to see what it will need.

Find and buy another 40HP Enduro in running condition....keep the "submerged in saltwater" motor for spare parts....
