Has anyone tried to use XD100 in their Yamaha. It's supposed to smoke less then regular TC-W3. it's a "god" synthetic oil, can't do any harm or can it?

Should not harm a thing. Meets Yamaha's TC-W3 requirements.
Most Yam drivers over here across the pond that want their Yams to smoke less and to foul their plugs less use Pennzoil 100% synthetic or semi-synthetic. Can be found here for a good bit cheaper than XD100 oil.

Thanks for the answer. Some places here carry Pennzoil but it's not easy to find. I have a BRP dealer close to my summerhouse hence the XD100 even though it's a bit more expensive. It shall be interesting to see if there's any difference in smoke.Dont mind the Swedish spelling!

Well the XD100 works fine and the exhaust boss seems cleaner then before. But the engine still smokes too much and uses a lot of oil(in my opinion). I checked the factory manual for the oil pump adjustment and it said that the lever should touch the pin with the throttles fully closed. Mine has a gap of 2-3mm. The manual I have is for a 1999 engine and my is a 1995. Is it the same setting? I know things differs between the years (the powertrim assembly for example).Attached FilesDont mind the Swedish spelling!
