1988 115 2 stroke
Hello.im new to this so here goes.i have 1988 115 2 stroke.yeah she is old but in very good shape.and a brand new lower unit.first question.i picked up a digital tach off a newer yamaha.could it be used with my older motor.the second question is...pros and cons in doing away with the oil injection? Is it worth it? Does it matter? Ive been told different things on that.any help would be appreciated.thanks

Thanks for v that input.so it be safe to say just follow the wiring diagram for yamaha and hook it up green wire to green.and yellow for power? I dont care about anything else like the tilt etc.just need a tach.probably shouldve gotten a mechanical tach but i couldnt pass it up for thr price.80 bucks for a binnacle ignition switch and tach.Comment

Yellow for 12 volts. Black for ground. Green for the tachometer signal.
The tachometer may have to be adjusted for your specific model. Three wire sender, two stroke, 12 pole generator.Comment
