  • Crank case gasket ?

I've just installed the crank shaft and pistons on a
    P200 TLRX motor
but there is no evidence of a gasket on the intake manifold that holds it in place ? is this possible, do the metal rings and O rings make the seal themselves with no need for a gasket ?
    Thanks in advance :-)

If there's rubber o-rings and the manifold is machined out for them, those are your "gaskets"

Up top and to the right, in RED, is "purchase Yamaha parts". Put in your engine info and it'll bring up what belongs there..

      Thanks Scott
No gasket listed between the 2 parts, just seemed a little odd to me that the crank case wouldn't have a gasket ?

What specific parts are you joining together? I can't tell.

There are all sorts of gaskets used in the intake system.

Gasket maker sealant is used in other areas where two parts are mated together.

What is your service manual specifying to be used?

Yes. Per the applicable service manual.

Loctite 518,gel seal that's what your looking for.
that and carefully cleaning the mating surfaces.

Your original post said "intake manifold" which is quite a bit different than the "crankcase assembly"..

Just in the future, if you can post a link with the part #(s) your referring to would make it much easier. You have had some serious lower end leaks(especially between the cylinders) with no sealer..

Yamaha bond 1215 is used on motorcycle engine block halfs (not that it applies here).
