    The cup will come off fairly easily, going back on is the issue. Its IS a bitch and often won't go back W/O freezing or slight filing the outer edge. The cup on my engine is about $10.00.

    I replaced mine twice as it was cheap enough and should I need to access it while on the water, I can

    Been there, done that several times... The cup itself expands maybe .005" over time.

      he has not got to the point of not getting it back on yet that we know of

        Yep, it won't drop out if never pulled and yes, you do need to pull on it a bit but it will come off MUCH EASIER than going back on...
