yamaha VZ225 Swivel Bracket

Need to replace bracket
Is the job hard to do and does the power head have to come off?
I am a mechanic but never done outboards

If you are talking about the one I am thinking of the power head, lower unit and everything else will need to come apart.
Might wait for a reply from someone with better knowledge on this though

Top of steering shaft is down on swivel bracket
bottom is dropped about a 1/2 in

I would check with OBR or another outboard used resale shop and try to buy an assembled good used bracket assy.

way faster and most likely cheaper.

I can get the complete bracket. How much work is it to insatll? Can it be done from the bottom up or does the powerhead have to come off?

I imagine it would require a very special wrench

to get at the heads of those upper mount bolts with the powerhead still in place
