Changer gear oil in both motors about 2 weeks ago and today on the port motor I noticed a small amount of gear oil coming out of the small hole just under the top oil screw plug. Have changed gear oil every year since new in 2006 and don't recall this ever happening. Maybe when I filled it some excess oil got in that hole and is just draining out but wanted to check defore I run the boat. Does anyone have any ideas on if there's s problem or not. Any help would be great.

Also I have not used the boat since I changed the gear oil not sure if that matters or not.

inspect/pressure test.
watch the shift shaft and driveshaft seals for leakage.
the garter springs on the drive shaft seals like to fail.
Thanks again and yes it was the springs that broke in the seal. Stupid me did not pay attention when I took them both out and now can't recall if they both go with the spring facing up or not. Looking at the pry marks from when I took them out I think they do go with springs facing up but just wanted to ask.
Again thanks
