    The above doesn't make sense...

    Year, HP, model # please

And specifically, what is the problem and what are you trying to do?

If you look up above and to the right, under "Purchase Yamaha Parts", you can enter your info, find the area of the engine your talking about and pass it along..

We are going to need rodnut to ring in on this one. The SM does not show the use of the check valve. Not that I can find anyway.

Rodbolt won't be able to help without some "understandable information" from the OP as in what he's trying to do.

actually I do understand as I have replaced more than one over the years.
use a pick and carefully pop it out.
you will typically destroy it while removing it but its the ONLY way to properly clean the block after boring/honing.

                removal is easy.
remove the crankshaft and bearing shells.
use a pick and carefully pop the valve out.

Is the purpose of the check valve to try and keep oil in the bearings that might otherwise flow out?

uses crankcase pulses to force fuel/oil into the bearings.

Obviously its for a two stroke lower end.

This valve is machined to fit into the block?

                      On all Yamaha 2 strokes?

                      One per cylinder I gather?

Just curious, never heard of it.

                      Learn something new everyday! Thanks

                          not all yamahas used it.
memory is insufficient to list models with and without it.
most V two strokes had one or two.

Ok thanks very much, I'm new to this, and putting a 200 2 stroke together.
I found a small metal disk in the main bearing plate that must have come from the valve itself. I'm in Panama and the parts people say 1 month to order new valves.
How critical are those valves ? I know that part number relates to hundreds of models

so I'm assuming its a valuable component but can find no information on the part or its function ?
