Latest part number for the M/F tachometer is 6Y5-8350t-83-00. It has a bit more functionality than the one shown.

    6Y5-8350T-83-00 TACHOMETER ASSY

Thanks for that.... Do you know if the wiring looms are the same?
I just wanted to rip out the old and replace without having to rewire everything

      Cheers

The -83-00 will plug and play with your existing harness.

What is wrong with the existing tachometer?

          Thanks for that...

Existing one is starting to fade (I Still need to check the connectors but last inspection looked ok)
That pic I put up is when it's on... It looks like the LCD is leaking in the bottom an now all I seem to see is what's on the display when I took that pic (looks like an "E"... Before that it showed some of the revs I.e part of the number)

Looks good.... But to technical for my two thumbs

              I've been offered these gauges(speed an tacho) at a decent price. P/n : 6YR-W0035-E3-00

Do they look like they will work with the existing wiring to you?
(Seller says that there are some rigging kisses with it, I'm guessing that they might give me the right loom choice but am not sure)

(Sorry for all the questions,I'm trying to figure it out myself but am having no joy in finding any information)

              Cheers

Did they say what kind of rigging kisses they had with it?

So, you are saying that we here have not offered you any information? If my answer that you can use a -83-00 tachometer is no information then I would presume that any further information that is provided with respect to the tachometer kit is no information.

What is it that you want? A mechanic to be helicoptered in to fix your boat?

Sorry that's not what i meant..

Your info has been spot on and I really appreciate it..
If you were in Oz then i'd be buying you beer's and/or paying invoices for the information you have been giving me...

My issue is that Ive just been offered another tacho and told "it should work" here locally with a different p/n 6YR-W0035-E3-00 and am unsure if its compatible as I haven't been able to find any information on that unit

                    Apologies for the confusion

....and yes my spell checker is not on my side.. "Kisses" should have been "kit's"

Since you are from Australia you are forgiven.

A 6YR-W0035-E3-00 kit contains a tachometer only. Plus some harnesses.

                      http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-6YR-W00.../dp/B005CXM70Q

This kit contains a -90-00 tachometer that is intended for 2005 and later model Yamaha's. It can be made to work with some earlier year Yams if an adapter harness is needed. Early Yams with a two wire sender that is.

Note that the -90-00 tachometer has just one four pin plug coming from it. Whereas the one depicted in your first post has two four pin plugs.

What is the model of your motor?

                        Thanks again for the understanding

Engine model number is 130BETOX (2000 model Yamaha 130Hp 2 stroke)

Other (serial) numbers on it are
                        6L1 707395

                        Thanks again

Your motor should have a three wire sender on it for the trim function. With a -90-00 tachometer (even with an adapter harness) you won't have trim indicated on the tachometer.

You need a -83-00 or earlier tachometer if you want full functionality. Like I noted in my first post.
