I have an '04 Key West 186 center console with 2004 Yamaha F115 and I can't seem to get up to 5,000 rpm. very slow to plane. Frustrated! Numerous posts indicate the sweet spot is between 5000 and 6000 rpm. Is this a computer or fuel management issue? Wrong prop? looks like a 17 prop. Any advice appreciated.

How long have you had the boat?
Did it ever rev to approx 6,000 RPM's?
Sounds off hand like the wrong prop.
Check out this site, its pretty accurate:

As a side note, when I re-powered in 07, the dealership put the wrong prop on it and my boat did EXACTLY what yours is doing.
It was such a dog accelerating, would barely touch 5K @ WOT.
Went to a prop shop, got the correct SS prop. Completely different boat/engine! Almost as quick as my old 2 stroke 150 out of the hole, jumps on plane in maybe 4 seconds... WOT is about 45 MPH per the GPS @5800-5900 depending on trim.Scott
