Convert stick steer to wheel

I have a Yamaha 50, 2 stroke. It currently steers with a stick (NOT a tiller). I would like to convert it to a wheel. I can build a center console and move the controls. Any other guidance on how to do it? Is it as simple as turning it sideways and slapping on a wheel?

well now !! you will need a console (Edison) and a telflex helm,cable and wheel.. you would also need longer cable's for the "control" but very easy to do..

I believe the current cable is already teleflex. Would that work? Can you recommend a teleflex helm?
