I am fixing seals on a leaky T/T ram. I have the T/T assy off the yama motor. Looks like the TT motor needs to be replaced, ~$225 from what I see on the net.
B99 and RB17. I got the corrode pin out by applying Mapp heat and punch/hammer. At first I couldn't get enough HP to punch the pin out but in the end I used a BIGGER hammer and all went well. It wasn't easy but the job is done.
While removing the TT unit I noticed that there's some play where the steering tube meets the brackets mounted on the transom. I looked in the SM and it doesn't look that diff to replace those bushings.
The q is... should I be concerned with this play at the steering tube? If so, is the replacement that diff?
