  • 25xmh vs e25b tiller assembly

    Hi everyone,
I tried using the search function to find the answer, but I could not find it. So here we go.

I am looking to replace a tiller assembly on a 25xmh 69XK (2007), the parts manual points to 69P-W0084-04-8D.
Would this fit the 69P-W0084-00 part number that is listed to fit the e25b engine (which is listed in manual of the 25xmh engine)?

    Thank you in advance

What country are you in? Do you have the complete engine ID? Begins with the number 6.

Hi boscoe99, I am in Australia.
      Full engine number is 25XMH - 69XK - S - 1000573 - J

      I hope this helps

69P-W0084-00-8D would have been the original tiller handle. The -04-8D denotes the third iteration following the original part.

Either part number should be able to be used in place of the other part number.

What part number specifically do you have that needs to be replaced? The -00-8D or the -04-8D?

Doing a google search I can find either part number.

This is the part that the official yamaha AU site says I need: 1 - HANDLE STEERING ASSY69P-W0084-04-8D Link
This is the part I found that seems to match the part I need for 1/3 of the price 69P-W0084-00-4D Steering Handle for Yamaha Outboard 30HP 25HP E25B E30H: Link

I have found manuals that confirm the E25B model and the 25XMH outboard are of the same series, for example see link page 44

Looking at the part numbers again I am wondering, is there a difference between the '4D' and the '8D' tiller assembly, because in the pictures they look identical.

you can always buy it and see if it will work.
I would not think you would be able to find someone else that has tried this on this forum, but you might

The last two characters denote the colour code or finish code. 4D and 8D being closely related.

As I said earlier the -04 is an updated/upgraded -00. More than likely it is functionally the same.

Progression would be the -00 replaced by the -01 replaced by the -02 replaced by the -03 replaced by the -04.

If and when the 0 is replaced by the number 1, say -10-4D, then the parts may not be interchangeable.

boscoe99 , Thank you that is very valuable knowledge when purchasing any part. I agree with you the difference in colour does not upset me.
I'll review the pictures and schema's of the parts once more and will likely place the order.
