2013 F250 Impeller question

Hi...I am in the process of replacing the impellers on both of my F250 motors (2013 "XCA" models)...the manual doesn't specify whether the shift lever should be engaged or in neutral before lowering the lower unit....anyone?

Most folks would put the shift lever in the neutral position before dropping lower units, then be careful not to move the shift shaft while working on the lower units....that way everything is right there in neutral when you bolt it back together...really shouldn't be a problem...
