I have a 2009 F4A and recently it has taken more pulls to start up and produces smoke on a cold start. The engine seems to be fine once it's warm, but was wondering if this is something I should be worried about or if it indicates something needs fixing?

if you leave the motor down while cooling off, and then tilt it up?
does it still smoke at next start up?
hold on, is the combustion chamber and spark plug at the rear of motor?
if so tilting it up should drain the oil away from the combustion chamber, not into it.
should have said tilting it too far down may get oil into the combustion chamber while cooling offLast edited by 99yam40; 10-07-2024, 06:46 PM.

Thanks for getting back to me. I haven't tried that, but I do probably leave it down for a bit before it tilt it up.
Yes the spark plug is at thr rear of the motor. I think the motor may have swung round whilst tilted up so the spark plug end was at the lower level hence the chamber filling up with oil
